Busy Day

First off we're headed out to the Bark to the Park downtown. Bark to the Park is a dog lovers paradise where you can see all types of dogs from big to small and support the local SPCA. Of course Masterfoods USA will have a Pedigree dogfood booth where we'll give out dog treats and have fun.

After that we're headed to the local farmer's market to get some flowers for the new house and maybe some fresh vegetables. Here's a picture of everyone helping out painting the kitchen last night.

To keep up with the Pickles & Beer theme I figured I would also post one of my most treaured recipes, Mustard Pickles. These are da bomb!

FAMOUS MUSTARD PICKLES
24 cucumbers
1 quart onions
1 cup kosher salt
1/2 pint olive oil
3 tablespoon black pepper
1/4 lb dry mustard
3 pint cider vinegar

Remove the skins from the cucumbers and slice very thin, add the peel and sliced onions and cover with the salt. Let stand over night. Drain well and add the olive oil, pepper and mustard, stirring slowly. Add the vinegar and pour into mason jars. Boil jars for 15 minutes to seal the lids and let stand for 6 weeks. Try them on a hamburger at you next cookout. No need for any other condiments.

Sox get blown out again.....

Every offseason since 2004 I've been telling the world that the Sox need more pitching and a gold glove middle infield if we're going to win another World Series. The last thing we need is an overpriced bat in the lineup (see Mike Lowell). I finally got my wish this season and now the bats die...... Looks like Theo's job is safe from me..... for now....

Caption for Josh Beckett: "Damn, there goes that Dunkin' Donuts contract."

I'll try to bring more of the stuff had on Picklesandbeer.com here over the weekend but there is still a lot of painting to do at the house. Keep checking back for more updates........

Making the switch.......

Since taking PicklesandBeer.com off the web a few months ago, I've been searching for a way to update the universe of what's going on in my little corner of the world. I think (hope) I've found it here. How did I get here you ask? While visiting my friend Dave's website/blog last week I came across a link to The Color Green I really liked how she set up her blog and after reading about blogger.com I figured I would give it a go.
